What’s something to sandwich between ripstop nylon for biker impact armor?

Posted by admin on March 15, 2010

I want armor pads on 2-piece crash clothing presently on sewing machine.
Former conveyor belting for mined ore three-eighth inch thick was first thought.
I have free access to a lot of that. Are not interested in aftermarket fabric.
Own enough Fieldsheer and Icon. Feel inclined to get more into Road Warrior.

Try looking into carbon fiber, the material your thinking of is too hard. If you fall, the material you are using alone will bruise you up underneath the clothing. I used to drag race motorcycles and we used carbon fiber and Kevlar blended plates under leather suits. Carbon fiber and Kevlar are great for this use do to the fact that the fibers can bend like cloth and still retain the strength needed to protect the person behind the fiber when needed.

I need advice on how to get punk rock clothes. I went to military surplus for combat boots but all they had?

Posted by admin on February 23, 2010

was RUBBER boots. I ask "where do I get punk rock band patches from", and everyone told me to go to a crafts store. But when I went to the crafts store they just have little fuzzy duckies and letters of the alphabet in baby blue colors and religious stuff and that’s the only patches ANY of them have. All the fabric stores seem to have things geared toward old lady sweater-making and the people telling me to look in "craft stores" obviously have NO idea what they’re talking about.

I know its a biker jacket, but you can’t find PUNK ROCK patches in a harley-davidson store. So where DO you find punk rock patches?

I wanna look the way I wanna look cuz its the way that *I* wanna look for ME and I just wish I knew where all these other punk-rock-clothes-wearing people get their gear, like the spikes they wear and all that and those boots you can tuck your pants into.

I found spikes from Hot Topic (I HATE going there but I was DESPERATE, don’t tell me hot topic isn’t punk cuz they are the ONLY people who have spikes) and I got some spikes. So I dug into the biker jacket in a few places with poultry cutting shears because nothing else would work (The "hole punch" for leather jackets isn’t available ANYWHERE), and installed the spikes that way. Is there a less time-consuming way to do it though? Each single spike takes a good 2-10 minutes and I have to have a solid surface like a chair that will get gouged in the process.

It depends on whether or not you can shop online. If so:

http://www.findcoolclothes.com/

ebay will work for the patches and whatnot.

http://www.colorpatch.com/special_order_patches.htm < You can get custom patches made here.

I actually happen to think the fuzzy ducky patch would be very punk rock, due to its irony.

If you are unable to shop online, then just try hitting up some local thrift stores. You would be surprised at the random stuff they have.

leather biker jacket…still in for spring or not?

Posted by admin on February 15, 2010

im selling mine since somehow it doesn’t fit right and i was thinking of using the money to buy new clothes for the upcoming spring then buy a new one if it’s still going to be in for autumn this year.

i defiantly think they’re still in. just try pairing it with something much more springy. like bright colored shirts or dresses & jewelry. A lot of people are saying get a light colored jacket, but the cremes wont really work for fall so instead of having to buy two or not have one for the autumn, i would still get a black/brown/grey but just make sure to play it up with some fun summery accessories. hope this helped! :]

They’re kind of going with the "rocker" style, but all kinds of girls could try outfits like that because the tough look is what’s "in" this style.

What sort of clothes would one wear with snake skin cowboy boots?

Posted by admin on January 27, 2010

I assume some kind of jeans, but would I have to wear a western shirt and/or cowboy hat, or do only Mexicans wear snake skin cowboy boots? Do bikers wear snake skin cowboy boots?

A modern and hot, boot cut jean. Button down shirt (not tucked in) with the top two buttons open (not an Oxford though, you know like the Catholic School uniform shirt).

I’m in New Mexico and the most of the Mexican men here I have seen wearing ostrich boots, not snake skin. And, in all of my years (my dad was a Hells Angel) of being around bikers, none wore snake skin boots either.

They don’t have too many statement pieces persay, but they have alot of good basics. They’re best know for they’re jeans and graphic tees; both great!

I also think Nordstrom, Macy’s and H&M would be great for you. (Macy’s and Nordstrom both have the option of buying online, but H&M doesn’t.) I don’t know how close you are to a metropolitan area, but we have like two within 50 miles of Cleveland, Ohio, so…. there’s a chance! H&M is just what you’re looking for. It’s great, edgy, fashionable stuff for cheap. Well, as cheap as you can get with out falling apart!
I’ve also found the occasional ‘fashionoista piece" at Marshalls and TJMaxx, too. That’s what I call rock-bottom prices!
Old Navy is good for basics like solid cardigans or tanks.

Best Wishes! <3
